For more than 15 years, he has designed and directed the construction of large machines used in performances, the most emblematic of which are the machines of the Royal de Luxe Company, including The Book of the True History of France, the Giant, the Rhinoceros, the Little Giant, the Giraffes, the Little Giantess and the Great Elephant.
He also authored:
- the rue du Cargo Melquiades-Ville de Nantes (1992)
- the Beau Manège carrousel in Toulouse (1996)
- the Manège d’Andréa carrousel (1999)
- the stage design of “Passager” for the Channel, nationally accredited arts scene of Calais (2000) and he is currently working on rehabilitating the space as scenographer associated with the team of architect Patrick Bouchain.
- the scenography of the exhibit Lisbonne/Lisboa for the Parc de La Villete in Paris (2002).
- the “Giant of the Seven Seas", hybrid creature weighing 15 tonnes (central element of the scenography of the Forum 2004 in Barcelona).
In 2004, he initiated and staged “Le Grand Répertoire des Machines de Spectacle” in Nantes. The exhibit was presented at the Grand Palais in Paris in the summer of 2006. He authored a book by the same name published by Actes Sud in the Fine Books collection.
In 2004, he and composer Mino Malan created “La Symphonie Mécanique”, a performance currently on tour.
For several years, François Delarozière has been teaching in the Scenography Department at the School of Architecture in Nantes and leads numerous training courses for performing arts workers, builders, puppeteers and members of theatre companies.
