Although meticulously cared for and in perfect working order, the Carrousel des Mondes Marins is in a zone that is highly exposed to the elements. The only noteworthy anomalies are points of metallic corrosion and the degradation of wood on the pediments and machines, but the automated equipment also needs to be revised.
In order to minimise closure times, maintenance has been stretched over 2021, 2022 and 2023. The most in-depth maintenance period takes place this year:
between 3 January to 8 April, 2022.
The work primarily consists of re-painting all the metal structures and elements on the second floor, which is why the site is entirely confined for the duration of these works in accordance with professional standards.
The entire team behind MACHINES DE L’ÎLE has been mobilised.
LA COMPAGNIE LA MACHINE, BERTIN ECHAFAUDAGES, KAEFER WANNER, PHIL EXPO, SPIE, COBATI, SIXENSE and DEKRA are all working together to carry out this ten-year maintenance project.
